Batu Mountain in Lembang Sub-District, Indonesia

A great landmark like Batu Mountain would be popular among travelers these days. Why is that? The mountain is famous for its unique shape and urban story, so it becomes a worthy vacation destination for everyone. The location is in Langensari Village and it belongs to Lembang Sub-District, actually. Despite the number of visitors is not as many as that of Tangkuban Perahu Mountain’s, the site becomes a perfect alternative to spend holidays in nature. On the location, tourists can do several fun activities like sightseeing, photography, trekking, and relaxation.

The Nuance
“Batu” means stones or rock or simply known as Gunung Batu in Lembang, Indonesia. The locals named it that way due to the fact that the mountain consists of mostly rocks. In terms of location, the mountain resides on about 1335 meters above the sea level. The next important fact is related to the origin. According to the locals, the mountain was formed due to the eruption of ancient Sunda Volcano.  In terms of height, Batu Mountain is considered short as compared to nearby mountains. Despite the fact, the atmosphere is as comfy as others and it features various majestic views of nature too.

Exploring Batu Mountain
Most visitors come to Batu Mountain to enjoy the sunrise from the highland. They also want to witness majestic views of mountains including Putri, Burangrang, Tangkuban Perahu, Malabar, Manglayang, and much more! What is next? Trekking is also popular despite the average features of the landscape. During the adventure, visitors may find a government building used for monitoring the threat of an earthquake. The fact is that Batu Mountain is one of Lembang’s earth cracks, which potentially causes such natural disaster.

Batu Mountain also features several farms and settlements. That means visitors may meet villagers while exploring the mountain. Have no worries. These people are friendly and they are likely to help tourists to find good spots to visit, including the sacred tomb. The locals even offer foods and a resting place for those who need these. What is next? Other fun activities to do are camping, rock climbing, and hammocking. It is possible to do them all, as long as tourists have prepared the equipment beforehand. Also, make sure to come with an experienced guide during the exploration.

Later, before going home, tourists should take the time to enjoy photography. At least, they must collect some beautiful pictures as souvenirs. It is also recommended to share those pictures on social media, in order to attract other travelers to get to this site. Batu Moutain is not as famous as Tangkuban Perahu, after all. Thus, it requires more promotion from its visitors!
